Backcover Description: My most recent book is entitled God's Healing Plan: Hope for the emotionally and spiritually wounded. My book is a dramatic, detailed account of the destruction I faced in the midst of the Iraqi War. I was deployed to Europe for Operation Iraqi Freedom to care for our troops. As a Registered Nurse, I cared for our severely wounded troops flown into Europe from Iraq. While I was in Europe, my son joined the Army and was deployed as well. I was supposed to attend his graduation dressed in my uniform, wearing my Captain's bars giving him support; I didn't make it. In fact, we lost each other for a period of weeks.
Daily I suffered the fear of his body lying on a litter rolling across my unit. My body shook as each man came to my unit. It was a dread I hope no other mother suffers.
My son knew I was worried; he was worried as well. He called the only number he had to find me, my home. My husband refused to help my son find me. I lost all contact and lived in fear of the unknown.
My husband sought to destroy me emotionally, spiritually, and financially. He emptied our bank accounts, demanded divorce and moved all my belongings into storage after he charged them to my credit card. I had nothing left but bills; everything was gone, including my home.
Days after my return, I received an email from Iraq about my son. My worst nightmare came true. The final blow brought me to my knees.
The wars in my life spurred me to search for help; but no one had the answers I needed. That's when I decided to develop my own healing plan; a plan that changed my life, and can change yours as well.
