Bio: My name is Tracy Searight Dibert. I am a graduate of Indiana University of Pa with a BS in Education. I am an elementary teacher that currently works at Salem Crossroads with developing and teaching their Preschool and transitional kindergarten program. I have worked with children for over 15 years and have created programs for the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. I am the author Detective Pancake and The sister that won't stop talking. I am the mother of four great kids who are the best breakfast bandits. I live Pennsylvania with my husband and my children.
How many book/s have you written: I have written two books.
Please share with us your book titles: My book titles are Detective Pancake The sister that won't stop talking
What genre/s would you like to write in: The genre I would like to write in is Historical fiction
Please share with us who or what encourages you to write and why: The person who encouraged me to write was my children's literature teacher Barbara Kupetz. After that class it was a goal of mine to write a book.
What enourages me to write is my love of word and seeing how my words make children laugh. I really enjoy reading to children. My children especially my daughter Jenny she is my inspiration.
How long did it take for you to write your book/s: It took me eight years to develop Detective Pancake. Two weeks to do The Sister
How long did it take for you to publish your book/s: it took me eight years to publish Detective Pancake
Who did you publish with and why: I was in a bookstore last summer and found a book that had the same title as one of my stories. The pictures were almost exact. I even took down the authors name and looked her up on the computer to see if she knew me. When I saw that I knew I had to get my stories out there before someone had the same idea. I did not send out the traditional query letters I went with Authorhouse because they could get my book out in four months. My goal was to get the name out there and the idea. I wanted it copyrighted.
Please share with us how you prefer to market your book/s: I prefer to market my books online. I am able to network better and reach a larger audience. I do enjoy reading to children because they are the ones that ask their parents to buy my book :)
Please share with us any event/s that you have planned in marketing your book/s: The events that I have planned was a pancake breakfast with Detective Pancake. A meet and greet with Detective Pancake. I am planning a writers program about writing a Detective Pancake cookbook. I also had a contest to name Detective Pancake's favorite Pancake. I also fill a basket with my book and breakfast food and raffle it off at Libraries and schools.
