Author Meeting Place interviews author Leigh Savage of Saint Louis, MO, USA
Bio: I grew up loving to escape in the world of stories that my Father would write just for me. So it wasn't any wonder that as I grew older I too picked up the pen and started writing.
As a teenager I loved the stories with anything paranormal and as I grew up I've tried to create my own world of vampire and other things that go bump in the night.
I hope you enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed creating them.
How many book/s have you written?: 3 paranormal novels and 2 childrens books
Please share with us your book titles: Written under Leigh Savage Angel of Death Shadows of my Past Bound by Blood
Written under Carrie Lea Williams The Smile Box The Swan and the Rose
What genre/s would you like to write in?: Paranormal Romance
Please share with us who or what encourages you to write and why?: I was in love with the ideal of vampires and romance. I started writing my first vampire stories while I was in high school because at the time you couldn’t find many vampire stories to read on the book shelves so I decided to write my own.
How long did it take for you to write your book/s?: It varies from book to book Shadows of my Past only took about 6 months of writing off and on.
How long did it take for you to publish your book/s?: It was in 2008 I learned about ondemand publishing
Who did you publish with and why?: I used createspace to publish my work they had the tools I needed to create a professional looking book and a way for me to get my work out to the people. Honestly your book does you no good if you can't share it with others.
One of the main reasons I like ondemand publishing is the freedom over your work. The only deadlines to meet are those you set for yourself.
Please share with us how you prefer to market your book/s?: I've done most of my marking online with social network sites.
Please share with us any event/s that you have planned in marketing your book/s: The next event I'll be attending will be Bouchercon 2011 Saint Louis, MO.

Book Review/s to share: 5.0 out of 5 stars Angel of Death, January 26, 2009 By M. Nix "Joyfully Reviewed" - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Angel Of Death (Paperback) Mika Shadow is a hired assassin who is charged with stealing an anti-aging drug that could help her long time friend and mentor. The problem is she finds herself facing the demons who stole her from her mother. That isn't Mika's only problem, she is falling for the target going against every rule she has ever set for herself.
Domonic Dagmar is falling for Mika, yet he doesn't know who she truly is. Can these two fall in love despite the odds?
Angel of Death pulled me in from the beginning. A few things pulled me from the story as I was reading, but Leigh Savage managed to pull me back in every time. There is just something about Mika that is not only heartbreaking, but tough. I'm drawn to her character and despite a few technical things, I loved her story. Domonic is just what Mika needs and it takes awhile, but she does figure it out. Ms. Savage also teased about a sequel at the end of Angel of Death. I can't wait to see what the next story brings.

Book Review/s to share: 4.0 out of 5 stars A Solid, Well-Crafted Suspense Thriller, December 14, 2009 By Apex Reviews (Durham, NC USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) This review is from: Shadows of my Past (Paperback) Working as a consultant for the St. Louisville Police Department, Desi is accustomed to visions of pain, sorrow, and death; however, when she crosses paths with the mysterious Barcuilai, she soon begins having visions of another time and place - which somehow feature Barcuilai himself. As the connection between the two of them deepens, Desi finds herself equally torn between her deepening feelings for him and her concern for her own safety - a concern that's more than justified when she becomes a target of the very killers that she helps the police track down...will Barcuilai be able to spare Desi's life, or will she simply become another one of the many shadows of his past?
Suspenseful and engaging, Shadows Of My Past is a solid, well-crafted offering from author Leigh Savage. Successfully blending all the elements of a strong mystery thriller, Savage tells a compelling tale through well developed, three-dimensional characters and a gritty, impactful storyline. Despite the recent explosion in popularity of vampire tales, Savage has managed to create an authentic, genuine account that plays well within the genre while standing alone on its own. Such a task is not an easy one to pull off, but the imaginative, creative essence of Shadows more than makes it possible.
A welcome addition to the realm of fantasy fiction, Shadows Of My Past is sure to satisfy many a fan of Savage's signature storytelling style - as well as help her win a host of new ones.
