Hidden Passages by Vila Spiderhawk is a set of small stories about a woman’s milestones in life. For example: birth, child, parent and death. The author pulls you into the storyline with great depth. For instance, you can imagine and almost smell the herbs. You can also feel the character thoughts and feeling in the last short story as she goes through birth to death. It was not what I normally like to read, however, I still love the way the author writes and look forward to reading more books by this author.I would recommend this book to my friends and family.

33 Summers Darren L. Pare
Although at first I wasn't certain I would enjoy a book with a baseball theme, "33 Summers" by Darren L. Pare came as a pleasant surprise. The intertwining of important news events, sports news, and music made this story a pleasure to read. I felt helpless as I watched the life of Jack Mathis who had such a promising future as a major league baseball player spiral out of control. I came to understand that he chose at an early age to focus on things outside of his ability to change because it kept him from having to face life and the problems that it held. He put so much effort into trying to understand the motives of other people that he failed to confront his own demons and eventually those demons consumed him. This was an emotional read from start to finish and I recommend it for its insight and honesty.

Beltane Erin O'Riordan
“Beltane” by author Erin O Riordan is about a character named Allie who is a pagan priestess who thinks she is marrying the man of her dreams but it seems that Paul Phillip is hiding something from his soon to be wife. Allie’s twin sister Zen is a witch who has the gift of empathy; she meets Orlando Parisi while giving him a reading. He just found out that his wife was cheating on him with his best friend. Orlando doesn’t even know if his son is really is or not. Beltane is a pagan holiday that celebrates the fertility of the earth and is also know as May Day. Can these two pagan sisters find love before the Beltane feast? I found “Beltane” to be very engaging and in all honesty I could not put it down. “Beltane” is a story which has a wonderfully great plot and characters that you feel something for as you read about them. The love making scenes are tastefully done.

MIDSUMMER NIGHT Erin O'Riordan
In the sequel of Beltane, “Midsummer Night”, we find Allie and Orlando give birth to Antonio and Zen taking the first steps in becoming a Pagan Priestess. She is studying to become a nurse-midwife and a vow of celibacy for 4 seasons and boyfriend Ramesh is not too happy about it but decides that since he loves her he will wait for her. Zen’s employee Gillian finds love in the strangest place with a woman named Astrid Dejonghe. However this romance doesn’t go smoothly. Is Astrid the right person for Gillian? “Midsummer Night” is another winner of a book from Erin O’Riodan. The book has very interesting characters and hot steamy loves scenes. The plot makes you really look into the lives of Allie, Zen and those around them. **** 4 Stars Carol Langstroth Mind Fog Reviews
The Erotica Anthology Erin O'Riordan
In “The Erotica Anthology” by Erin O'Riordan there are six short erotic stories that are hot and steamy. The title’s are “Herbert”, “Beltane”, “Anatomy of a Lesson (A Tribute to Our Bodies, Ourselves)”, “900”, “Innocent” and “Going With the Flow”. It offers something for everyone that reads erotic stories. This reviewer’s overall opinion is that I found this to be a decent book with tasteful scenes however I felt like the short stories were wanting for more of a plot. If you love erotic short stories then this is for you *** 3 stars Carol Langstroth, Manager Mind Fog Reviews
The Smell of Gas Erin O'Riordan
The Smell of Gas by Erin O’Riordan is about how the lives of ten people that are intertwined.
Leander and Fred (short for Frida) are roommates who do heroin.Fred’s girlfriend, Brigid, is a high school girl who likes to party as well as get good grades in school. She is determined not to be a junkie and says she only uses on the weekend. She has sex with Rev. Prescott at the Prescott’s Wedding Anniversary celebration.
Another character, Darius, is a police officer and he and his wife, Renata, are trying to have a child. Renata’s sister, Monica, and her husband are expecting their first child.Darius’ ex–partner, Tim Kawguchi, was a police officer that had gotten shot in the line of duty. He is now a yoga instructor. He meets and falls for Diana Bell who just happens to be Brigid’s sister.
Overall the stories make a decent read. It is this reviewer’s opinion that it just seems to jump around a bit and it does not flow correctly. However, the characters are very engaging and the plots are extremely good in and of themselves. This is a good read if you can follow the various individual plots and follow them all together. The woven integrity of this story is at stake with the confusion I endured while trying to follow the mini plots.
