Angus Grady was born on October 13, 1336 to Sir Edward Grady and Lady Katherine. Sir Edward, at the age of 16, was accused of witchcraft; marked a warlock. He was the thirteenth son; cursed with that when he and his wife were to have a son, that son would be cursed to be immortal and enforce the world on the dark-evil side.
Duncan Wyatt took Angus new born child and raised him as his own. Sir Edward was burned on a tree for treason and witchcraft. Lady Katherine died in childbirth.
Angus, at the age of thirty, was attacked and stabbed in his heart. He died that night, and yet, he rose in the morning as an immortal, he had visions of the past and of the future, not just his, but others as well.
The year is 2156; Angus and the others live on Allard Island. The government destroyed most of the world with a bomb. The Island was divided with the upper- world inhabitants who were the humans, androids, and the Watchers. The underworld was inhabited by vampires and demons.

Maxwell Bradley and Clifford Farley are best friends and have been since childhood. The boys grew up in the small town of Paradise in the Sierra foot hills of California.
