Author Meeting Place interviews author Amber Rigby Grosjean of Anderson, Indiana, USA
Bio: I am a full time writer. I've been writing since I was 11 years old. I was married in 96 and have 3 children. I love karaoke, and am interested in giving massages in which I am looking for schools right now. I've always enjoyed telling stories and learned that I am actually related to Samual Morris who created Morris Code. He was a writer too! I love horror movies, the bloodier the better I always say. Anything else can be found on my website at http://www.argrosjean.com
How many book/s have you written?: 3 are published with 2 more in search for publishers
Please share with us your book titles: Cursed Blood (horror with supernatural romance) Stolen Identity (erotica thriller) Spawn of the Curse (horror)
What genre/s would you like to write in?: All kinds. All for adults (and mature YA). Horror, Erotica, Mystery, Romance, Fantasy, Science Fiction, and even non-fiction
Please share with us who or what encourages you to write and why?: My life is my biggest encouragment. I was teased growing up and I had a lot of imaginary friends who eventually graduated to being characters for future books lol. My husband is a big encouragment because he's always telling me to go write (instead of watching TV lol)
How long did it take for you to write your book/s?: Anywhere from 1 month to my whole life lol.
How long did it take for you to publish your book/s?: It took me 20 years to get my first book published and it was the shortest time writing spent.
Who did you publish with and why?: Publish America was my first publisher. It was the first company who accepted my book. I did research with them before agreeing to take them on. At the time, I didn't care that I would be doing all the work to promote the book because I was intending on doing it anyway. It hasn't stopped me from being published elsewhere. It opened the door for more opportunities to other books and publishers.
Please share with us how you prefer to market your book/s?: Word of mouth is always best and I love the attention lol. Also Internet is the least expensive way so its the route I use often. I've joined a lot of writing groups and non-writing groups to spread the word.
Please share with us any event/s that you have planned in marketing your book/s: Right now I'm just playing it by ear. Nothing has surfaced yet.
Do you wish to share any additional information with our readers?: Yes. Dreams really do come true! That's my motto and its really true! Never give up and always believe in yourself--keep writing. And do the research you need for marketing because its much harder than writing. Learn new and interesting ways to spread word about your books before you get published so it will become like second nature when that day comes!
