You will feel like you are in a roller coaster of emotions. Most of the time you will feel sorry for Randy and all he's been through but there are times you will want to slap him in the face. Catherine Watkins is a remarkable writer and with this book she takes you into this fascinating story of true love, hate, frustation, compassion and a lot of others emotions that you will discover as the pages go by. A great reading from an author that is just begining to show how talented she is.
By Elizabeth S. Payne "uniphant5" (Chesapeake, VA) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Randy (Paperback) Catherine Watkins has a unique writing style that will draw you into this book and not let you go until the end. I read this book in a matter of hours. I laughed, I cried, I laughed some more. The story of Randy is one of loss, torture, and love lost. It is such a wonderful story and leaves you wanting more.
By M. Serio (Laguna Hills, ca United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Randy (Paperback) The story of Randy, a young man with severe emotional problems and Elizabeth, the woman who loves him. The first part of the story is from Elizabeth's point of view, and is so well written that I felt I was walking in her shoes. I understood the anguish of loving someone who can be kind and sweet one moment then angry and violent the next. It was so hard not to sneak out of work to go read another chapter in the hopes that another bit of Randy's history would be unveiled. When I didn't agree with one of Elizabeth's decisions I would find myself railing at her, but she did her best, and earned my respect. The second part of the story is from Randy's point of view. Now I felt his pain and self doubts. As I encouraged him toward self control and to make the right choices, I had a hard time not bringing his emotions into my own world. This poor boy has gone through so much, but with the love of Elizabeth and his friends you are left feeling confident that he would continue to make progress in getting his life together. This book is a romance, but not for the faint hearted. I am looking forward to more from Catherine Watkins.
